Everyone believes in God to some degree. Some of us are more in tune with nature, so we can understand a little better than others, so it is our responsibility to make clear any confusion from the scripture since we have that ability.
My suggestion is that the next time an atheist or agnostic, or anyone else for that matter, uses parts of scripture to blaspheme our Lord, call them out on it. Ask them why they have chosen to just take parts of the scripture and reconstruct the presentation thereof to fit they're agenda.
Directly after that, empathetically, patiently, and kindly ask them to pick out a part of scripture, any part, and then YOU tell them what YOUR interpretation of it is, and/or what your churches' interpretation of it is. We do not even have congruency within the churches, so how could we possibly influence non-believers when we aren't on the same page? We cannot. People are smart. And people will manipulate just about any situation to fit their aims if it doesn't go against their belief system. If their belief system is incorrect, we owe it to ourselves to correct their misconceptions. We need do these things kindly, patiently, and with full understanding of the other persons' situation, otherwise, we are not being as effective as we could be. By correcting their misconceptions, we are doing the highest service to mankind, as we are helping to develop more love in the world, God Bless You, and Thank you for your considerations.
